The Lydd model flying club has been flying for over 20 years; it was founded by the Late Frank Payne. The club originally flew from a field over towards camber then moved to a field just outside the town of Lydd then around the year of 1986 moved to its present position. The club has a number of members young and not so young who laughingly refer them self’s to Coffin Dodgers we also cater for and make welcome disabled members.
We fly many types of aircraft from the basic trainer to scale war birds and jets. We are a fixed wing club as we have found that unfortunately Helicopters and Fixed wing do not mix with safety.
Our club is lucky to have three registered Instructors/ Examiners who are always happy to train new members wishing to learn and join the club.
